Research Scope & Objectives

This research group advances structural engineering with a focus on spatial or free-form structures that go beyond conventional two-dimensional planes. These include shells, domes, vaults, tensile membranes, spatial trusses, and tensegrity systems, characterized by complex geometries and multidirectional load paths.
Key objectives are to develop innovative design methods, apply advanced computational algorithms, and conduct rigorous geometric analyses to improve structural efficiency, performance, and architectural value. The work is inherently multidisciplinary, integrating engineering, architecture, and related fields.
